Aswrwb,
I had an enquiry about whether or not there are women’s praying facilities at Noorul Islam, and in particular whether there will be Taraweeh prayers for women, this Ramadan.
Also, could you let me know what the parking situation is around the masjid. Do you have a car park? If not, is there a car park near by? Or does one just park on a side road? Do you require a permit for the side roads?
I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience,
JazakAllah khair
Sorry, have just seen the line at the bottom of the leaflet regarding womens Taraweeh prayer, but please let me know about the parking situation.
JazakAllah khair
Glad you saw the bit about facilities for sisters!
Unfortunately we do not have a car park. However there are a number of side roads around the masjid where you can park. No permit needed at night (some voucher bays during the day on the corner of the side roads). We do ask everyone who comes by car to park considerately and respectfully.
I don’t believe brothers who need to drive to come here should come to Noor Ul Islam. Surely there are mosques that are closer for such people?
Local people are finding it a trouble to squeeze into the masjid during jummah and taraweeh jamaat. People not local to Leyton should go to their local masjid.
Just a humble request that is it possible to speed things up a slight notch at taraweeh prayers? The first half last night was excellent but slowed down considerably towards the end. Coming home at midnight if you have an early start for work is not ideal, especially if you only have around a 3 hour rest before you wake up again for sehri and Fajr.
MH: With all due respect, the Quraan is the book of Allaah and should be respected. The Quraan itself has it’s own rights and amongsts it rights is that it should be recited correctly.
The recitation of the Quraan should not be sped up to such a level that one cannot make out what the recitor is saying let alone understand it.
Allaah says: “Do they not then think deeply about the Qur’ān, or are there locks upon their hearts (from understanding it?)” (surah Muhammed 47:24)
We would like to firstly remind ourselves and then the congregation that taraweeh is an act of worship and not merely a meaningless ritual. May we also remind the congregation that taraweeh is a sunnah and not obligatory and there is great reward in the fact that it is difficult bearing in mind the times during the summer months.
assalamo-alaikum.
dear brother in islam i live in nuneaton and i would like to know why there is a diffrence of nearly ahour&half in the sehri time and fajr time.our sehri finishes at 2am and fajr salat is at 2:40am.Are the masjid comittee in the wrong.dawn begins at 4:47.
jazakallah
Can you please ask the attendees of the Taraweeh namaz to take care of their children during the times of taraweeh salat? Rather than praying, these kids are running amok outside the masjid and being a noisy nuisance to the neighbours. It seems that many parents see taraweeh namaz as an excuse for their children to be out of the home without realising what their kids are getting up to.
My question is how comes other local mosque in the area start their fast time at least an hour before Noor Ul Islam. How does Noor Ul islam calculate it’s times for it’s current timetable. Are Noor Ul islam following the 18 degree theory or are your working out done in another way. I am currently following your time table, but I am worried that the fast’s I am keeping are in vain as the time for serhi is possibly after subah sadiq.
Could you please clarify this for me in lamen terms.
The issue of Fajr time in the UK, in summer is complicated and difficult to explain in a few words in laymen’s terms.
At Noor Ul Islam Trust, we follow the times stated by Shaykh Yaqub Ahmed Miftahi at Hizbul Ulama. After research and consultation many mosques, including East London Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre have now agreed to also follow this time (Unified Islamic Prayer Timetable for London). We acknowledge there are differences of opinions but we are satisfied that the research and times put forward are correct. Locally, in Waltham Forest there are many mosques also following this time. For more information please visit http://www.hizbululama.org.uk/highlights/1432ah/ramdan/Whichtimetableshouldyoufollow.pdf and http://www.moonsighting.com/prayer.html
The moonsighting.com explanation is esepcailly useful.
This is a problem. Many youngsters come with their parents. Their parents think that they remain at the back yet they actually leave causing a nuisance. . We will continue to urge parents to either keep their children with them or not to bring them at all.
The issue of Fajr time in the UK, in summer is complicated. Plus there are the obvious regional differences in times due to different sunset and sunrise times between Nuneaton and London.
