    As Salaamu alaikum
The afternoon course has started on 1st June. Here an introduction to the course was given. The teaching will start from next week insha Allaah.

The course cost £25 per month.

There are five modules and is made of 27 lessons from serial 1 to serial 9 which covers the following:-

    • Quran
    • Hadith
    • Fiqh
    • Muslim General History
    • Seerah of Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W)
    • Arabic Book (Grammar)
    • Hadith & Fiqh (Arabic Books)

This is a two year course that will give exemption to the first part of the full Aalimah course. The Aalimah course itself is a five year, full time course, from Monday to Thursday 9:30am to 2:30pm and Friday 9:30am to 11:00am.

The teacher is a Aalimah by the name of Apa Shazia Tariq.

    As Salaamu alaikum
I am interested in the islamic/part Aalimah course. Can u please tell me that if i want to join the course now can i get the admission ?

  6. aslam Says:

    As Salaamu alaikum
Yes you may join. The classes started today but if you wish to enrol now, you may do so.

  7. Zohra Says:

    Asa, is there crech facilities?

  8. aslam Says:

    As Salaamu alaikum
Unfortunately no, we do not have creche facilities.

  9. Abu Amirah Says:

    Assalaamu Alaikum,

On the advert in the Masjid for the Aaalimah course it makes a reference to the Urdu language, I can’t remember the precise statement but something like you need to know the language or for those that don’t know Urdu. Something like this.

However my point is that we live in Great Britain and the language of Islaam is Arabic so why should there be any reference/need at all for Urdu.

This course should be taught in either English and Arabic or Arabic only NOT Urdu. My children are not Pakistaani, Islaam is not Pakistaani and I have no wish at all for my daughters to learn or be exposed to Urdu.

  10. Rabia Says:

    Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu

I picked up a leaflet about the part Alimah course.

I havent done any Islamic studies, and I would like to join this course, Insha allah. I may not be able to join this year as you have already started. After Ramadan I am hoping to join because that is when my son who is 3 years old will be starting school full time.

Will I have to wait for a new course to start? And am I allowed to enrol for this course as I havent studies Islamic studies?

I can read the Quran, I attend Tajweed classes, I read books, is that enough?

  11. aslam Says:

    As Salaamu alaikum
Whilst the course has already started, you are advised to come in on Monday or Tuesday to meet the teacher. She will assess and decide whether you are able to join the class. It is better to visit at 12:30pm.

  12. aslam Says:

    As Salaamu alaikum
Some of the books refered to on the course are classical Urdu books. However the course is taught in English with any references in Urdu translated to English.

    Was Salaamu alaikum

  13. Juairiya Says:

    As Salaamu alaikum,
I am imterested in the full-time Alimah course. I just wanted know how many years and the cost of the course? Also when can u start the full time course?

  14. aslam Says:

    As Salaamu alaikum
The full time Aalimah course is a five year course, starting each October. Registrations are being taken at the moment. The current cost is approxmately £40 per month, but this increases later on in the course.
Please phone 020 8558 0786 or email enquiries@noorulislam.co.uk for an application form.

  15. Rabia Says:

I asked a sister about an Alimah course she is attending, and she told me that the class is run in Urdu, with Urdu kitabs. She goes somewhere else. However, do I have to know Urdu if I had to attend this part Alimah course. I dont know any Urdu at all.

  16. aslam Says:

    As Salaamu alaikum
The course is in English as is the folder given to students. We have other non-Urdu speaking students who attend.

  17. Rabia Says:

    Assalamu alaikum

Will you be having any sessions with Arabic books? The reason why I am asking these questions is because if I was to learn a new language then it would be arabic.

Do you know anywhere who have this type of course in English and Arabic?

    Jazakallah

    Wasalaam

  18. aslam Says:

    As Salaamu alaikum
Sorry we are unaware of similar courses in Arabic/English.

We do have our own Arabic class where the Madeenah books are taught. But this is learning the language only.

  19. Maaha Says:

    As Salaamu alaikum
The class is taught in English. The class has already started and a new one may not be available for another year. You may wish to speak to the teacher so explain your current level of knowledge. She may allow you to then join.

Please note that this is not a part time Aalimah course, but a part time course teaching Islamic Studies and a part of the Aalimah syllabus (you will not complete the course as an Aalimah)

  22. Nazia Says:

br Aslam, jazakAllah and will i need to arrange an appointment to meet with the teacher or can i pop by anytime?

  23. aslam Says:

    As Salaamu alaikum Sr Nazia
You can come by on Monday or Tuesday. Best time is around 9:30am (although her class will be starting then) or 3:00pm. It may be worthwhile phoning on 020 8558 0786 to make sure she is in.

  24. Hannah Says:

    salam,
i wanted to take part in the part alimah course and i know its abit late to apply would i still be able to apply or would i have to wait until the next class starts next year inshallah…

  25. aslam Says:

    As Salaamu alaikum
The only way you could enrol is by meeting the teacher for her to give you an assessment. If it is felt you can catch up/has sufficient prior knowledge, the teacher may allow you to enrol. We suggest you visit the teacher on a Monday or Tuesday at 3:00pm to discuss this with her.

The course is located at Noor Ul Islam, 713 High Road, Leyton, E10 5AB.

  35. Fahima Rahimi Says:

Assalamualikum. would it be at all possible for the teacher to teach the part time islamic studies/Alimah course at North Finchley mosque? There is a huge demand here and the sisters are desperate to start a course like this.
If the minimum number of students is specified we will ensure that it is met.
We would be very grateful if you could speak to the sister on our behalf or she can contact me directly.
