Please do still apply in the mean time. Once you receive your National Insurance umber, you should pass this to us. you should attend the induction session this Sunday from 11am to 1pm at Noor Ul Islam. Classes then start on Monday 20th September, when the teacher will explain how and when to pay. Again once you start, leave your Oystercard application with your teacher who will obtain the necessary stamp on the form and return this to you.

Assalaamualaikum brother,
My sister wishes to join the aalimah course. She is 16 and at the moment she is entitled for the EMA grant (Educational Maintenance Allowance). I was wondering if she would still be entitled to it if she were to join the classes. Please could you also let me know if there are places still available. Jazakallah Khair.
September 23rd, 2010 at 5:03 pm
As Salaamu alaikum
Enrolment should be ok – Your sister will have to come in to meet the ehadteacher though to confirm this.
REgarding EMA, we have been informed that students are not entitled to EMA when attending our Aalimah course as this only applies to Colleges… – Sorry

Can a person join the aalimah course half way through the year? Or would they have to reapply for the nest year (2011)?
October 3rd, 2010 at 6:06 pm
Assalami’Alaikum.
Would it be possible to join the Aalimah claases from year 4?
I have studied the Aalimah course in Ebrahim college for three years, and was wondering if I can continue my fourth year at Noor ul Islam
October 3rd, 2010 at 6:56 pm
As Salaamu alaikum
This can happen, as we do allow students to enter different year groups – but this is subject to the Headteacher’s approval. She will meet you first to ensure that the standards are comparable and that you have not missed anything from our curriculum for year 1-3.
You will have to visit the Trust office from Monday to Thursday between 12 noon and 3:00pm. However it is better to phone in and leave a message for the head teacher to phone you so a convenient time can be arranged.

Students should start at the beginning of the academic year – unless they have completed part of an aalimah course elsewhere.
However, a student could still start now as we are still at the beginning of the year, but any later and too much of the syllabus would have been missed.

Does Noor Ul Islam provide Aalimah courses part-time in the evenings? If not, would it be possible to have some sort of classes or sisters in the evening. I know a lot of sisters who want to do the Aalimah classes in English and Arabic but arent able to beacuse of University.
There are two madrasa in East London that provide Aalimah classes in East London; Madrasa Al Zahra and Quwwatul Islam but for both Urdu needs to be learnt. There is no madrasa that teaches Aalimah in English and Arabic in the evenings. Please let me know if Noor Ul Islam would be able to set this up inshAllah.
October 12th, 2010 at 11:33 am
As Salaamu alaikum
Due to availability of teachers and of rooms – it has not been possible to run a part time Aalimah class in the evening. However, you mentioned there is a number of sisters you know who would want to do the Aalimah class in the evening. Perhaps if this could be substantiated in a list of actual potential students (names, contact details) sent to us, then there is a chance of a class being set up.
October 12th, 2010 at 12:35 pm
waAlaikumAssalam.
I will try to get a list of all the potential student by Friday inshaAllah. Is there an email address the I can send the list to?
Also, I was wondering would Noor Ul Islam be able to do some preliminary advertising too, just so you have an indication of how many students are interested in the evening Aalimah classes. If you look at the top of this thread you can see that sister Ruby has asked whether noor ul islam provide evening Aalimah classes because the daytime aalimah classes clash with college.
P.s if you require Aalimah teachers, I can help you with that as I know some Aalimahs inshaAllah.
October 14th, 2010 at 1:16 pm
Assalamu’Alaikum.
If evening classes were to be setup, what will the timings be? And how long will it take to complete the course? And also, please give me an email address to send the name of the potential Aalimah students.
October 15th, 2010 at 10:58 am
As Salaamualaikum
Please send the list to admin@noorulislam.co.uk
Just to reiterate. At the moment there are no plans for an evening Aalimah class. However should the demand be there, we will then look into the possibility of the course. We would need to discuss with the teachers and students how many evenings a week the classes can run for and based on this, then say how long the course will take to complete.
With respect to the full time course, this takes five years to complete.
I apprecaite interested students would want to know the course details first before signing up. But at the moment, we just need a list of “interested parties”, before we look into possibly taking this forward.

Assalamu’alaykum. Do you know any institutes that do hifz for sisters. Ive searched and searched and i cant seem to find any in london. Would noor ul islam be able to set up hifz classes to cater for sisters over 16 who wish to memorise the Qur’aan?
February 4th, 2011 at 11:18 pm
As Salaamu alaikum
JazakAllaah Khayran for your comment. Unfortunately we are unaware of any Hifz classes for sisters in London.
Noor Ul Islam Trust has considered running this, however the availability of good teachers, charging an affordable rate and suitable timings of the class have proved difficult. Very sorry. However, please continue to ask dua that we are able to do this in the future as a few sisters have asked for this and we do try to provide activities and classes based on the demand and needs of the community.
February 4th, 2011 at 11:39 pm
waAlaikumsalam warahmatullah. JazakAllah for the reply. May Allah grant Noor Ul Islam the ability to run such a course.Ameen. I think it would be very beneficial in having a hifz course for sisters over 16, because in East London there is no place where sisters over 16 can study hifz, whereas with the Aalimah course there are plenty of places in East London that teach it. Please please try and see if something can be arranged brother, not only is there alot of demand for it, but I think we need more female hafidahs as this is something which we are deprived of.
